Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: There are a lot!. It depends on what field you're studying!. I think that sociopolitically, the last century has had quite a few heavyweights!. Mahatma Gandhi, Hitler, Mussolini, Churchill, FDR, JFK, Stalin, Lenin, Margaret Thatcher, Michail Gorbachev, Eamon De Valera, King Edward, Al Capone, Charles Manson, and Martin Luther King Jr!., to name a few!. Not all influential or famous people are nice!. Hitler wasn't nice, but he changed Europe, the automobile industry, and the world forever!. Al Capone is a household name who made his money bootlegging!. Eamon De Valera was in the IRA!. Charles Manson killed a famous pregnant actress!. They did, however, change situations, societies, and public opinion hugely!. Then there are great actors like Lawrence Olivier, Charlie Chaplin, Lon Cheney, and Bela Lugosi, who pioneered cinema!. There are directors like Alfred Hitchcock and Roman Polanski!. How about the artists and architects!? Andy Warhol and Frank Lloyd Wright are certainly famous!. What about musicians!? Who hasn't heard of Frank Sinatra, The Beatles, and Elvis!. F!. Scott Fitzgerald and J!. K!. Rowling are certainly both very famous authors, and they both published books in the last hundred years!. What about fashion designers like Christian Dior, Chanel, Prada, Gucci, and Armani!? Watson and Crick discovered the double helix structure for DNA; and Jonas Salk invented a vaccine to combat polio!. Great strides were made in science and medecine in the last century!. Obviously I've barely scratched the surface!. The number of famous people is not limited to any one area of interest, and it's not limited to any one continent!.Www@QuestionHome@Com i think there is an influential person in every town!. someone who goes out of their way to help someone or a cause that we could truly admire!. but a famous person there is bono, and other artist who have helped world AIDs, and so on!. but someone like martin luther king jr or ghandi or malcom x i doubt!. obama is the beginning of a revolution that will shake this world and he will become i think the next influential person!.Www@QuestionHome@Com All over the world, probably millions!.
