Question: Salem Witch Trails Question!. Please no stupid answers!!!!?
Im doing a report on the Salem witch trials and imy topic is "How did the dynamics of the culture of Salem in 1692 contribute to the tragedy!?'

Basically i have to write about how did the lifestyle back then in Salem make this tragedy happen!. I already wrote about the puritan values and because they were so strict people basically went nuts and needed something for fun!.

It has to be a four page essay and i only have 1 page done so far!. I have no ideas what else to include int eh essay that stays on my topic!. Any ideas!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

You could talk about how 1692 was before the Enlightenment of the 18th century!. People in general were much more superstitious!. Witches and demons and spirits were all assumed to be real, and questioning the validity of such nonsense was often viewed as heretical!. So it was not so much their "puritan values" as it was their religious delusion!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Actually, it's been pretty much concluded that the the Salem Witch Trials were caused by the townspeople eating grain contaminated with ergot, a type of fungus that causes violent muscle spasms, vomiting, delusions, hallucinations, crawling sensations on the skin, and a host of other symptoms!. Use an example!. like Anne Hutchinson!. She was seen as a rebel and a part of the salem trials!. In reality she was just a very educated as a child!. in this era it was rare for a women to read or be educated!. Many of the victims were just victims of telling the truth and were killed!.
