Question: Before nicolas copernicus discovered that the world revolves, how did they know that it is 365 days per year!?
Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
It's based on the seasons and phases of the moon!.

There are four seasons and when the fourth ends it starts all over, that's a year!.

The moon has phases and when all the phases are complete that is roughly a month!. It cycles about 12 times during the four seasons!.

They counted how many days in each lunar cycle and added them together to get 365 days give or take!.

There was no need to know that the solar system is heliocentric!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Ancient civilizations, such as the Mayan, were immune to the ignorance of the dark ages!. Copernicus didn't discover heliocentric solar system, he only rediscovered it!. Some of the most elaborate inventions in the ancient world were calendars!. Many of these were the most accurate ever made, calculating the year down to the minute!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well They used the moon phases to do that so at about 29!.5 days per cycle and 12 cycles a year that make a 354 day year!. Which is close to 365!. Www@QuestionHome@Com
