It would appear that the single bloodiest day was when the bomb was dropped on Hiroshima!. However, Wikipedia says nothing about French or German losses on July 1, 1916, so the total for the Battle of Somme on that day may be greater than in Hiroshima on August 6, 1945!. Notice that the figures for Stalingrad cover the entire battle!.

The battle (of Somme) is best remembered for its first day, 1 July 1916, on which the British suffered 57,470 casualties, including 19,240 dead—the bloodiest day in the history of the British Army!.

On Monday, August 6, 1945, the nuclear weapon Little Boy was dropped on Hiroshima by the crew of the American B-29 bomber Enola Gay, directly killing an estimated 80,000 people!.

The Battle of Stalingrad was the bloodiest battle in human history, with combined casualties estimated to be above 1!.5 million!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

You may want to look deeper into History at the 'Black Death,' or the Bubonic Plague!. Millions died over years, and although exact records may not be available for the daily extent of its destruction, you can rest assured there were many deadly days in the history of the Plague!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
