The greatest "cause" of the Great Depression was actually that the bill for WW I came due!. People had been living beyond their means, factories producing more than could be sold and it seems, no one was minding the till back at the store!.

Congress was too busy answering the call of the financial institutions during the Clinton years (creating the sub-prime lending practices and companies like the big three in Detroit have for decades insisted on spending a fortune to retool and produce a new, bigger model every year while the UAW has been driving the cost of production through the roof!. Currently, their contract states that if a member is layed off, the big three have to still pay them 95% of their pay!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
