This nation was NOT founded on the creed that all men would have equal outcomes(equal pay) but that all men would have equal opportunities that the people could or could not take advantage!.

Dr!. King's message was that we should treat people as individual people and not as a member of this party or that race or this other religion!.

the USA was founded with alot of high ideals (it's "creed") - freedom, equality, etc!. but that hasn't ever really truly happened!. so Dr!. King is saying that he hopes one day this country will actually be able to experience ("live out') the true meaning of the ideals it was founded upon!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

well I think he meant since us Americans are suppose to be "free" then why aren't we ALL (during that time) able to befriend, love, and so on whoever we want to without being shunned or not accepted by their race!. I'm guessing that's how he felt since he truly believed that this (referring to those times) period cannot live on forever and ever; i guess he looked at as if well slavery was rid of!.!.!. so why can't this period of time pass on as well!.

Well, a creed is something that a group of people live by, kind of like a set of rules!. And in America, since of the constitution is said that we are the land of the free, he hopes that we will someday actually live how our forefathers wanted us to- without racism!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
