beacause he was an extreme nationalist, he was not elected but took over rule in spain after winning the spanish civil war!. it was controversial because he wasnt elected just placed in power after winning!. he was a controversial leader in the war beacause after the original leader died and he coordinated a junta of the exisisting leader and succeeded!. he was an overall military leader and was oppressed he whol strech as leader!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
