It wasn't obvious America was going to win World War II, in fact they contributed very little to the decline of Nazi Germany!.

The Kraut technology was far superior to any of the Allies - the Jagdtiger, Panther, and Tiger tanks were marvellous machines, heavily armoured, more maneouvrable and with greater firepower!. The elite SS squadron was equipped and trained exceptionally well, holding a profound sense of unification, due to the racial "master aryan race" ideology!. Recruitment for Hitler's youth spread across Europe at a rapid rate, with Danish, French and Polish enlisting!. In the Battle of Britain for air dominance, the Germans had a very advanced and experienced group of pilots, who were known as the Luftwaffe!. Even the tactics used were fantastic - the lightning war during the march to Moscow captured 600,000 Red Army troops in one engagement!

One of the main reasons that the Nazi's lost World War II was that Hitler never evaluated the consequences of his actions!. His ideas were not thoroughly checked or approved, nor were they detailed or rational!. Operation Barbarossa is one example, where Hitler ordered the invasion of Soviet Russia, while both countries had agreed to being neutral parties!. The relationship between Stalin and Hitler was reasonably stable at the time, and a declaration of war was uneccessary, exposing Germany to conflict on the Eastern front, a foolish move indeed!. HOWEVER, there was a method to Hitler's madness!. His plan encompassed the talented Field Marshal, Erwin Rommel!. The bet was that Rommel would become victorious in North Africa and capture the Suez Canal!. From here he would press northward, through the Middle-East and meet up with the Russian Blitzkrieg force around Stalingrad!. Not everything went according to theory - Erwin was defeated by Australian, English and Indian regiments and supply lines were cut, with a Kraut retreat the result!.

Simply, without Soviet involvement, it would have been almost impossible to destroy the Third Reich's regime!. Their counter-offensive in 1941 was successful and they moved across Europe swiftly, closing in on Berlin by late 1945!. The United States were relatively unimportant when fighting Germany!. Yes, they were very influential in the confrontations of South East Asia and China, but D-Day is most certainly over-rated!. I don't like to commend one nation for the degradation of Hitler's power, it was after all an Allied effort!. Without eachother, the Axis wolud have strengthened to incomparable measures!. It is safe to say that the luck we had during World War II was VERY helpful - not just the German Dictators incompetence!.

I hope I helped, If you'd like more information just ask!. Or if you want an easier version I can explain it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

No, it wasn't obvious at all!. Now, with 20/20 hindsight it is!.
In those days the US Army was tiny, badly equipped and even worse officered!.
The US Airforce didn't exist!. It was the Army Aircorps!. The USA was one of the last nations to establish an the Airforce as independent branch of the armed forces!. It was just as badly equipped as the army!. The B-17 was on the drawing board!.
Only the navy was in slightly better shape!.
All the great things that help decide the war had to be designed, build, constructed or invented!.

Yamamoto was one of the few able to see what the enormous industrial potential would mean, if provoked!. And even he tried to knock out the USA with a killer blow (Pearl Harbor)!. So even Yamamoto didn't see it as obvious that the USA would win WW2!. And he was one of the very few Axis top officers who advocated not to attack!.

Okay, it was never obvious that America would win the war!. However, for all the strenghts and weaknesses of the Allies, it was fairly obvious that the fighting power, natural resources and sheer human numbers put into the war effort by the US enabled the Allies to achieve victory!. The Germans and Italians were worn down by our compatriots even before we engaged in the battles in the European theater!. I highly disagree that the war in the Pacific was caused by the United states!. The Imperial Japanese Army and Navy had been cutting a wide swath across most of Asia even before the US became actively involved, bar our support of Chiang Kai-shek against the Japanese invaders!. And it wasn't just Pearl harbor that was attacked on December 7th, Guam, Manila Bay, Thailand, Malaya and even an intercepted ship headed for the west coast of the US!.
To put it succinctly, it was NEVER obvious that America would win the war single handedly!. Even the process of testing and building the atomic bombs were an international effort, with scientists from Germany (expatriots), Britian, Canada and of course, the US working together at different stages to achieve that result!. The end of the war would have been much bloodier had there actually been an invasion of the home islands, as the main islands are called in the Japanese Archipelligo!. The US could never have finished the island-hopping campaign without the Austrailians, nor would D-Day have gone as well as it did without the American built landing boats and the Allied Nations ALL worked together to pull off the armistance in Germany!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The industrial might of the US, along with its manpower reserves, tipped the balance in the Allies' favour in Europe!. And in the Pacific, the nukes developed by the Americans came in handy!. But Hitler was also very close to developing a nuclear weapon!.!.!.America couldn't have won the war on two fronts by itself, but made the difference when it counted!. However, the Soviets and British also had a major hand in defeating the Nazis, just as many other nations contributed to the victory over Japan!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

Not obvious at all!.
The USA was the last of the major allies to enter the war!.
In September 1939 France and Britain were the only nations with the guts to oppose Hitler!.
By the time that US troops encountered their first Germans, the Russians had been fighting for eighteen months!.
The first time the US army had a major battle with the German army at the Kasserine Pass in Tunisia they were humiliated!.
The US soldier was no match for the German soldier until almost the end of the war when most of the german army had been destroyed by the Russians!.
As for the Sherman tank it was like a cardboard box compared to the German Panther and Tiger tanks!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

define your question!.!.!.america alone!? no other support!? If so I don't think they would stand a chance!. The most damaging force to Germany was Russia

And they were not more advanced!. Germany was very advanced!. Had better tanks, planes, weapons!.

EDIT: The only reason that the ALLIES (not just US) were able to be successful from d-day on was that hitler had launched operation barbarossa before, meaning he had a war on 2 fronts!. If he hadn't he would have had many more troopsWww@QuestionHome@Com

Yes of Course they could not Fail thats why the incompetent eisenhower was put in charge

By the time the Americans took over the Germans were already beaten in north Africa

Ask the Australian desert rats they were the First to beat Rommel again before the american Soldier had fired a shot

No oil and the British had the enigma codes so we knew what the intended to do and they were running out of Fuel so they were restricted on Bombing

so if there was No Americans in WW2 there would be No Pacific war so the entire British empire would have been brought to bear against an enemy that was already beaten in the Air and at sea and Rommel the NAZIS best was beaten By Monty on land

so when the USA took over of course they would win

and don't forget the Russians wiped out the best of the Germany armies and had 7!.4 million men at arms On DDay even the incompetent Eisenhower could not loose not my words that is what MacArthur called him and sent him home u

he Royal navy was slowly beating the German U boats we sunk 3 of their Mighty pocket battleships without one American firing a shot we raised 1032 Bombers over Germany with Impunity bomber Berlin with the Loss of 16 Aircraft before the Americans turned up in June 1942 and Paton told FDR that we will be home for Christmas 1943 the plans are in place

and Eisenhower trashed the Lot and made his own plans result disaster

the first time the Americans faced Rommel Disaster Monty faced Rommel with the British 8th army and Kicked him out of Africa

so we sent the Americans to Italy and the General was relieved of his command for being a Failure so Monty made plans for Italy sent in the
8 th army and we got of the beach Monty Cassino would have never happened if the USA got off the beach

then of course DDay the British Armoured division got off the beach and moved inland and took on the German Panzer's heading for the US beaches if the USA had not got off Omaha beach the landings would be a total failure and as predicted the battle of the Bulge Lost By the Germans they ran out of Fuel

the British where aware of this as early as 1941 and Albert Speer is reported to have told Hitler if the British continue to bomb our factories we will have no fuel to fight with

Remember all WW2 explosives is a by product of Crude Oil the UK was still using WW2 bombs for training into the 60 ties

and remember the British set up the Fuel supplies at the Beach head Via under sea supply lines

History Now tells us that if Eisenhower had Followed Churchill;s and Monty's plans the cold war would have been avoided Bradley and Patton agreed with Churchill

But the Jew Eisenhower had another Agenda of his ownWww@QuestionHome@Com

the technological advances america had in comparison to the axis powers!.

yes i thought america would win as soon as dday happened , the momentum swing was too greatWww@QuestionHome@Com
