Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
It highlighted the African American social struggle!. This was due to it attracting attention from a white middle class audience which in turn allowed for poetry to be published in magazines!.

I'm currently doing my Uni presentation on this, so I should know a lot more! lol!. My main focus was all on the above and how it achieved it, it led the way to African Americans being recognised, exposed racism, created a market for black music that exists across the world today and also Winston Churchill used 'I Too' by Langston Hughes as part of a motivational speech when approaching congress about ww2 and tackling the Nazi's!

I think your main talking point would be how it did allow African Americans to tackle their social struggle, but you would have to explore that further and look at different poems/poets/novels/publications/music pieces!.
