Question: What are the original seven wonders of the world!? And who really authenticates these wonders - new and old!?
Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
Herodotus was a Greek Historian who travlled around the world!. He made 7 wonders based on his travels of Europe and Northern Africa!.
Great Pyramid of Giza
Hanging Gardens of Babylon
Statue of Zeus at Olympia
Temple of Artemis at Ephesus
Mausoleum of Maussollos at Halicarnassus
Colossus of Rhodes
Lighthouse of Alexandria

There were 7 wonders as 7 is a magical number!. The Great Pyramid of Giza is the only Wonder still surviving today!. Some versions listed the Ishtar Gate instead of the Lighthouse!.

In 2001 an initiative was started by the Swiss corporation New7Wonders Foundation to choose the New Seven Wonders of the World from a selection of 200 existing monuments for profit!. Twenty-one finalists were announced January 1, 2006!. Egypt was not happy with the fact that the only original wonder would have to compete with the likes of the Statue of Liberty, the Sydney Opera House, and other landmarks; and called the project absurd!. To solve this, Giza was named an honorary Candidate!. The results were announced on July 7, 2007 in Benfica's stadium in a big ceremony in Lisbon, Portugal!.
Those 8 were
Great Wall of China 5th century BCE – 16th century CE China
Petra 6th century BCE Jordan
Christ the Redeemer Opened 12 October 1931 Brazil
Machu Picchu c!.1450 Peru
Chichen Itza c!.600 Mexico
Roman Colosseum Completed 80 CE Italy
Taj Mahal Completed c!.1648 India
Great Pyramid (Honorary Candidate) Completed c!.2560 BC Egypt

Criticism has been made because you could either phone or vote online and nothing stopped voting more than once!. For instance, 7 million people live in Jordan!. It is estimated 14 million votes came from the country!.
UNSECO said that the iniative was only for business reasons and not open to everyone!.
Brazil went insane in trying to vote for their monument!. One morning, people woke up to find cell phones beeping with this messageOne morning in June, Rio de Janeiro residents awoke to a beeping text message on their cell phones: “Press 4916 and vote for Christ!. It’s free!” The same pitch had been popping up all over the city since late January—flashing across an electronic screen every time city-dwellers swiped their transit cards on city buses and echoing on TV infomercials that featured a reality-show celebrity posing next to the city’s trademark Christ the Redeemer statute!.
Calls to vote for Brazil were made free!.
