Question: What evidence shows the importance of the (Ancient) Greek Religion to its people!?

They spent a lot of money on this, sacrifices were usual!. When they went on the see they sacrificed to Poseidon, when they went to war they sacrificed to Ares, when they fell in love sacrificed to Aphrodite, when women want to keep their husbands they sacrificed to Hera!.!.!.!.
When they wanted to knew the future they went to Delos (the holy island which was the birthplace of Artemis and Apollo) with a lot of gold and the oraculum told them the future!. For example the king of Sparta went to Delos with a lot of gold and asked the priest if he could start a war against Persia!. The priest said if he went to war he will be destroy a great empire!. The king went to war and lose it, it was disastrous!. The spartan king went again to Delos, he was revolted because he lose!. The priest said that he was right, because he said "the king will destroy a great empire" and the spartan destroyed his own great empire!.
also the City-states spent a lot of money to built temples, for example for example the Acropolis!. When they wrote history (Herodotos too) they said that XY god wanted it that way and the other god sant the Geeks!.!.!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
