Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
Thomas Paine's writing greatly influenced the American revolutionaries (when he first arrived in the British American colonies it was just in time to participate in the revolution!.)

His writings also influenced the abolitionists of slavery!. Paine is often credited with writing "African Slavery in America", the first article proposing the emancipation of African slaves and the abolition of slavery!.

And his writings 'Age of Reason' in 1796 are said to have influenced Joseph Smith, the founder of the LDS Church (Mormons)!. In their archives they have a document by Joseph's mother Lucy Smith entitled the "Preliminary Draft" in which she speaks of her father-in-law giving Joseph Smith Sr!. a copy of Age of Reason and "bade him read that until he believed it!."

His writings, pamplets and books inspired philosophic and working-class radicals in the U!.K!., and U!.S!. liberals, libertarians, democratic socialists, social democrats, anarchists, freethinkers, progressives, and radicals often claim him as intellectual ancestor!.
