I was thinking maybe of doing the Missouri Compromise or the Kansas- Nebraska Act, or maybe the Dred- Scott Decision!. What do you think!? Please help!. I will give best answer to the person that helps the most!. Thanks a lot!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The absolute point of no return came when Lincoln (a Republican) was elected President!. The Democrats of the South were very much pro-slavery and to them, with the installation of a Republican, the writing was on the wall!.

With a Southern economy based almost exclusively on agriculture and the lack of mechanized farm machinery to do the labor, the Antebellum South was bound to continue regardless of the abolitionist sentiment from the North, whose economy was heavily based on industry!.

Lincoln was so hated by the Democrats and there were enough credible threats against him, that he had to sneak into Washington, D!.C!. for his own inauguration!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
