Sparta had its kings, the Agiads Pleistoanax and Pausanias, and the Eurypontids Archidamos II and Agis II, and several influential generals: Brasidas (+422), Gylippos, Kallikrates and especially Lysander!.

They were a Gynoarchy where the women held the positions of power!. they had a queen, most political positions were held by women, ect!. The men for the most part were things like artisans, farmers, blacksmiths, and of course the famous Spartan warriors everyone remembers, although they were a special caste within the Spartan society trained from birth to fight!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
