Yeoman Warders or Beefeaters as they are nicknamed!. these days they are selected from the Army!. The criteria is that each applicant must have completed 22 years reckonable service, have reached the rank of warrant Officer Second Class (Minimum) and also be a recipient of the Long Service and Good Conduct medal!. That's just to be considered for the Job! It used to be an all male preserve but recently it has seen the addition of the first female Yeoman to their ranks!. I hope this has been some help!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The Yeomen Warders of Her Majesty's Royal Palace and Fortress the Tower of London also known as Beefeaters or Yeomen Warders (NOT Yeomen of the Guard which is a distinct corps of Royal Bodyguards, while Yeomen Warders are simply tour guides)!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
