I believe it was the Babylonians that used base sixty in their number system!. They are the reason why degrees are divided into 1/60 (minutes and seconds), and I would assume this is why we have 60 minutes and seconds in our time period too!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

No one invented time!. It's always been there and people have always been aware of its passage!. The early civilizations all had time pieces - Ancient Aztecs, for example, had one of the world's most accurate calendars!. What was notable was the way people found to keep track of time!. Initially, sundials were a popular way of doing it, then candles
(so you could still tell time on a cloudy day, by how far down the candle burned) then water clocks, then mechanical clocks and on up to digital clocks!.
There is a suggestion that people at one time had six fingers - and every so often even today, a child is born with six fingers!. But this supposition is backed by the fact that we count things in dozens - two hands with six fingers on each!. And the clock is in multiples of six as well!. No one knows for sure, but it's a possibility!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

Egyptians were the ones who created time!. They were the first one to create an accurate calender!. They used astronomy to figure out when the Nile flooded and based their calender around that!. They also created the 24 hours in one day theory!. Im not sure how but I remember reading it somewhere!. In fact their calender was so accurate is was off from a true solar year by 6 hours (or minutes I don't remember)!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
