Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
Jackson, then Lee were the two leaders that Shaara spent most of the time on!. They were the preeminent leaders of the Confederate forces!.
Lee had also been the Commandant of West Point!. So is was in conflict with an old allie, George Meade!.
Most of the generals on both sides knew each other and were well acquainted with the other guys tactics!.
The proliferation of Generals, would make you believe that every time you turned around there was a General looking at you!. Buy Shaara, as he does in his other books, does not pay much attention to the common soldier!. His imagination of the rhetoric between the Generals is entertainment, at best!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
