In some cases it grows too large in size, like Rome for instances!. They couldn't control all of the areas it ruled!. Civil wars began to break out because they couldn't take care of every inch of the land but still taxed the poor people!.!.!.In other cases like the aztec they were defeated by a larger or stronger civilzation, on top of that they were too crul to some of there subjects and thus we turned on by there own people!. (Deasse also spead killing thousands because the spanish unknowly exposed them!.) In cases like the down fall of the Egland, back with I think king henery the eighth, they broke away from the roman cathloic church and lost several ally decreasing it's size!.!.!.Sending them into a bad period of time where hardly anyone knew how to read or write!. Civilations can be brought down several ways really!.!.!.!.But it's always either by rebeation, civilwar, or by being conqured by either or a larger civilation or climate change, deasse, loss of food/water!.!.!.!.And the alike!. But there are records of civilations just disapearing!.!.!.!.By unknown factors!.!.!.Yet to be solved but it's usually just lack of phisycal proof!.!.!.!. hope that wasn't too confusing!.!.!.LOL!. :)Www@QuestionHome@Com There's lots of things: Diseases can destroy a civilization that hasn't developed anti genes to it!. That's what largely happened to the pre-Columbian civilizations in America!. Measles and other sicknesses that weren't all that bad in Europe were disastrous to them (happened in other places, too)!. Overusing the land for raising sheep and goats can cause erosion and desert-spreading (one theory of what happned in North Africa, that once was exporting lots of food (to Rome and other places)!. Famine is usually not caused by actual food shortage, but rather by some economic development that erases the purchasing power of some large group in society (see the research of Amartya Sen, for instance)!. It can be dangerous to rely to heavily on one kind of crop (potato famine in Ireland) War can cause that the maintainance of irrigation is neglected (happened to what is now Iraq under the Mongol Storm)!. Or if the water is left standing still for too long in rice fields, malaria can start spreading (possibly what happened to the Angkor realm in Cambodia)Www@QuestionHome@Com We are destined to fail as a species the way we are today!. Like a bunch of rats running around all for ourselves!. Unlike the three musketeers, All for One and One For All theory, it is every rat for him/herself!. Rats when caught in a trap eat their own legs off as well as we would if we are trying to survive!. But if we see another human caught in the trap and we are free, but with the threat of being caught chances are dollars to donuts, the free guy will leave the guy who is stuck to die!. Very few people are going to be a Marine!. We build powers of destruction, be it poison, bombs, all kinds of weaponry, and we enjoy watching violence and just for an example, look at all your movies of violence and gore!? Very few here are gardeners, farmers, inventors of anything to help humanity survive!. That is why there is such an outcry of Global Warming to help us survive!? The average person does not care, either because they don't believe it, maybe too lazy, and then again some really want to see the prophecies of the bible to come true about armegeden, for they would rather give up, and hope to die in a big bang, maybe because they feel like a failure and would want to see everything go because they did not get out of life what they wanted so why not blow it up!? When the Next World War starts, nuclear weapons will be use, and 1 nuke can destroy big citys like New York City!. 1-3 Millions people lived in almost every citys around the world, and Imagine 50 nukes used on 50 citys!.
