Question: Why was the year 900 so important to western Europe!?
Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
Charlemagne was in 800, not 900!.

I can't think of any specific events that occurred in 900, but it was an important period for taming the Vikings!. Alfred the Great was king of a more or less unified England, having struck deals with the Vikings and more or less stopped their raids!. Unless Alfred had already died - the year of his death is not certain!. Rollo was leading Vikings in northern France, and would eventually end up being granted permanent holdings there!. Harald Fairhair managed to unify Norway!.
