What is the reliability of using Rocket Boys (movie october sky) as a guide to the immediate post-WWII era!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
Are you referring to the movie or the book!?

The movie is very closely mirrors the book!.

The movie- centered around the early 50s in a coal mining town, is a good example of post-WWII America!. Homer Hickam and his friends were inspired by the work of the scientists and the race to the moon!. So, that's the mid-50s to late 50s (if this any help)Www@QuestionHome@Com

What is written is accurate and could be used as a guide to the time frame!.!.!.somewhat, I say somewhat because it is very narrow in its scope!. If you are trying to understand a teenager from as small coal town in the 1950s who later became an engineer at NASA!.!.!.then this book is a guide for that!. However, if you are wanting to understand the era as a whole then this book is too narrow in its scope!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Read the book, "The Painted House" by John Grisham!. This is more the normal occurrences during the 50s in rural America!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
