Question: Why did merchants resent the Currency Act!?
Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
The Currency Act of 1764 prohibited all American colonies from issuing paper currency; this created monetary problems!. It caused the colonies to have trade deficits with Britain!. They resented it because of what is said above and also because their rights were not being upheld; the British didn't ask for their input and the people in the colonies trhought that they were being treated unfairly!.

EDIT: Why don't you answer your own question then!?!?!?Www@QuestionHome@Com
