Actually it was Adams who wanted Jefferson to write the Declaration of Independence, Adams was better at public speaking than Jefferson but Jefferson had better skills as a writer so Adams wanted to utilize those talents for construction of the Declaration!.

The main reason people didn't like Adams was primarily because he was kind of an unlikable person to many!. He was pretty short tempered and had little patience for anyone who disagreed with him!. Adams also had a tendency to think people were conspiring against him, he was sometimes right about this but more often he wasn't!. It was just a personality issue with Adams that caused people to dislike him!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
