Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: The type of government (which I forgot--sorry)!. Latin was actually the main language in Ancient Roman times (2,000 years ago)!.!.!. so they contributed 'Latin', and Latin is in English, Spanish, and a few other languages called 'Romance Languages'!. The churches and Christianity started in Rome as well but don't know how that would fit in!. They also contributed by many architecture styles!.!.!. I believe it was arches, from the Colosseum!. Galileo also contributed, by saying that the sun was the center of the universe (he then took it back because of the church)!. Main points to look at are: Science, Math, Architecture, Linguistics (Language), and Government Galileo, Copernicus, etc!.!.!. are all scientists (I believe all from Rome) Math (Euclid), but he is Greek and you can't use Algebra either, that's Muslim I believe!. Architecture!.!.!. consider the Roman Colosseum, architecture is a very important contribution!. Linguistics!.!.!. Latin was the main language, especially in Pompeii, a small town near Mount Vesuvius, which erupted in AD 79, recovered recently (just a few decades ago)!. You may ask, how did Latin effect Pompeii!. Well, since the existence of Pompeii has been taken out, less people speak Latin!. If Mount Vesuvius did not explode, however, more people would speak Latin!. When you think about it, Latin is not dead, it was NEVER dead!.!.!. tell anyone who said it was a dead language to take the class, it is not dead!. A lot of English and Spanish derive from Latin!. Latin expanded furthermore to the West and just!.!.!. it wasn't a language anymore (not popular)!.
