Question: African Americans and World War I!?
I have a paper I'm doing on African Americans and WW1!. The essay question states,

"Explain the impact that World War I had on the social position of African American men in the United States by the end of the war!."

I was wondering if you could give me a few ideas/examples!.

It'd be great, thanks :)Www@QuestionHome@Com

I really don't know if there were any African Americans that fought in WWI, Africans are from Africa, and I don't know if they were involved in the war!. There were however a great number of Black Americans that served during WWI, only then they were called Colored!. They served with distinction when allowed to fight side by side with other soldiers!. Unfortunately a lot of times the blacks were put in service type rolls, as waiters, mess hall personnel, or manual laborers!. This stems from the misconception that blacks were not as able, or brave enough to do the job!. Any time the black military personnel were given the chance they performed as well or better than other personnel!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
