The biggest difference between the 90s and now is that very few people had computers, the internet hardly existed and most people didn't even know about it!. Hardly anyone had a cellphone except for business people and some tradesmen!. Computers didn't become really popular until the mid 90s when Windows 95 was released!.
The biggest icon was probably Princess Diana, as far as musicians go, it depends on what you listened to whether you thought someone an icon or not!. MC Hammer, Vanilla Ice were some of the earlier rap stars, Guns n' Roses, Metallica etc were at their peak, Michael Jackson was becoming weirder and whiter; grunge fashion was in!.
The 90s also saw the fall of communism in Europe and Russia, the Berlin Wall came down, President Bush (father of the current president) invaded Iraq and Yugoslavia fell apart!.
Customs were pretty much what they are now!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
