Question: What can you tell me about Persian war chariots!?
Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
fairly standard chariot- light body- thin wood or wicker plaited!. 2 wheels, 2 or 4 horses drawing it!. 2 or 3 men riding the chariot- usually one to control the horses, one to shhoot a bow and one to handle a shield to protect the crew from missles!.
in some cases the wheels had long blades attached to them- scythes!. worked like a lawn mover of you hit a panicking crowd, but useless against disciplined infantry (as was proven by Alexander at Gaugamela)Www@QuestionHome@Com

Drawn by two horses, carried a driver and one other armed with javelins, had scythe type blades on the wheel hubs, weren't effective against Hannibal!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
