did you like it!? Yes!.

where did you live!? In a three-room 24x10 (plus kitchen and bath) "Peace Corps Hut" that a PCV before me, an architect, designed!. The Public Works Department built them all over Sarawak!. It was the first time I'd had that many rooms to myself in my life!.

how did you keep in contact with your family!?
Aerogrammes, which are single sheets of thin blue paper!. I was a PCV in 1971 - 1972, before the Internet and before cheap telephone service!.

what did you bring with you!? Clothes, dictionary, typewriter, camera!. When I came home I brought my blowpipe and parang, a kind of machete!.

how was the people there!? Short, brown and slender; warm, gracious, friendly, eager to learn, respectful of teachers!.

and what country did you stay in!? Sarawak is really a state, not a country!. I stayed there the whole two years!.
