like i know for sure that fitzgerald inserted/reflected some 1920s (historical) events into his novel!.!.!.

and why were they important to people!?

Well it was in the jazz age or the "roaring twenties", that was when America prospered very well!. Prohibition ( when alcohol was forbidden) was in that age!. That's how Gatsby got so rich, he was a bootlegger remember!?

Prohibition is a major one, because that's when in the US "gangsters" and organized crime was highlighted with the outlaw of liquor!. Gatsby worked with those people, I forgot their names, but yes they were an organized crime that supposedly "fixed the world series"Www@QuestionHome@Com
