Question: Very, very urgent!! Question about U!.S History!?
In 1877, Nez Perce Chief Joseph said, " My people have always been the friends of white men!. Why are you in such a hurry!?" Why do you think white people hurried to settle the West, with so little regard for Native Americans!?

Rapid advancement was hard for the American Indians to understand because they hadn't made any great strides in their culture for 500 years!. They could not understand what industrialization entailed and the need for land, raw materials, and gold!. That is why historians don't consider the American Indians a civilization!. Frankly speaking, they weren't civilized!. They didn't build buildings, they didn't have a standardized written language, they seldom stayed in one area and raised crops, therefore when a more advanced group of people (white Europeans) came on to their land so quickly in need of the above-mentioned commodities the Native Americans couldn't understand why that was so important!. It would be like today a well-educated American citizen (of any race) telling an illegal immigrant here from Mexico the importance of buying and reading books!. The illegal Mexican has no understanding at all about the importance of education or reading books, all they can see is manual labor and physical work!. It simply the difference in various cultures!. That is why America has landed several men on the moon and Mexico still hasn't figured out how to invent a toilet that you can put toilet paper in it after you wipe without clogging up the plumbing system!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
