Wow! Huge, huge question, but skipping those that are PURELY military, there's jet engines, radar, the electronic computer, vast numbers of code principles which directly impact YOUR computer all these years later, synthetic fabrics, waterproofing, materials for the sole of shoes, probably THOUSANDS of radio-related patents and principles, drugs like Methadone, whole new ways to manufacture huge items like ships, precision gauging, especially optical, changes in lens coatings, ultraviolet and infrared photography, changes in surgical emergency procedures, water distillation, whole new kinds of metal stamping techniques which began in the firearms and aircraft industries but are now used for all sorts of things, all over, nutritional studies that led to modern medical theories, etc!., etc!., etc!. And I just covered a small part of my list for World War II!. But make no mistake; war is still a monstrous and destructive thing!. It's just that a great deal more money, effort, and sweat goes into that sort of dire emergency, so the results are probably more stunning now than they seemed 65 or more years ago!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
