Question: Am I a Duke of Russia!?
My great grandmother were the Stroganoff family, If you have ever heard of them!. They were the duke and duchesses of Russia and VERY famous there also!. You should google up The Stroganoff Family!. So a part of my family says yes we are dukes and duchesseses because she is our great grandmother and the other part says no even though we have it in our blood!. The Stroganoff family owned A LOT of land and they owned A LOT of palaces!. So do you think since they are my great grandparents and they were the duke and duchessches of Russia and it runs through our blood does that make me a duke of Russia!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Listen to the members of your family who say no!. Not everyone in a duke's family becomes a duke or duchess and unless you know for absolute certain that your great grandmother was a duchess, do not expect so merely because she was part of the Stroganov family!. Duke is a title inherited by the eldest son in a family or bestowed by a king or queen (or an Emperor or Empress)!. Plus the Stroganovs were barons-baronesses and counts-countesses, not the higher ranked dukes-duchesses (though a few princes and princess were members of the family through the marriage of Countess Olga Stroganova to Prince Shcherbatov)!.
On top of all that, they lost all their belonging in 1917!. Today Baroness Helene de Ludinghausen, the daughter of Princess Xenia Alexandrovna Shcherbatova-Stroganova, heads the Stroganoff Foundation!. If you really want to find out if you have a royal title, you may wsh to try and contact her!.

No, I do not, that has to be bestowed on every member of the next generation by the top member of the monarchy!. The monarchy is Russia ceased with the revolution in 1917!.
If you recall, Queen Elizabeth bestowed this honor on different member s of the royal family in the last 40 years!. Princess Di was bestowed as a Duchess before she divorced Charles!. Www@QuestionHome@Com
I wouldn't have thought so, but then it is cannot be ruled out either!.
These titles such as king, queen, duke etc are titles given to certain people who are selected when they are the sons and daughters of!.
You would need to know if your father or mother was one, and if one of their parents were one and so on!.
It is like a family tree to which one set in that line is selected!.

You might want to repost this question under SOCIETY & CULTURE, then ROYALTY!.
There are a lot of people there who watch the Royals and they probably would be able to give you a lot better idea of how to validate your claim(s)!.
