What type of people were around Abraham Lincoln when he gave the Gettysburg Address!? Were there any women!? If so, what kinds!?

The only known photograph of Lincoln making that address is at this site!. The photo shows civilians and soldiers crowded around a low stage!. In drawings that were done after the event there are women shown but I don't see any in the photo!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Lincoln's most famous speech was so short, that the various photographers were not able to take a photo as he was speaking!. There were photos taken that day, though!. As we can see from the above link (well done, Sir!) that there are women in the crowd, most probably ladies of the town of Gettysburg, a small town in South-Central Pennsylvania!.

The usual suspects would have gathered near the president, just as they do now - sycophants (yes men), local politicians, local Republicans, local businessmen, and many of them would have brought their wives!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
