The Tsar was very unpopular!. They couldn't connect to the normal peasants of Russia, because they never lived that lifestyle!.
The Tsar also was more dedicated to war and helping his people!. When he lost to the Japanese in 1905, the people were understandly angry that their great army had been beat by an army who only had guns for 100 years!
also, Russia was underdeveloped!. No roads, no anything!. It was costly to transport stuff!. There were food shortages that were very bad, and the people were starving!. The Communists came and they made promises!. Because they came from the people, they knew what the people wanted, and so could make demands dealing with their wants!. The people thought the Communists were better for Russia than this old guy who didn't talk to them!.
When the revolution started, Tsar Nicolas didn't try to contain it, he thought it would die down!. Finally he sent troops, but these troops killed their commanders instead, because they didn't want to shoot their brothers, sisters, mothers, fathers, wives, sons, etc!.
If Tsar Nicolas had done more for his people, the Communists wouldn't have taken over Russia!. A revolution's success depends on the quality of the leader, and the willingness of the people!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

To save face he created a DUMA or russian parliment

People thought dying was the shits
People starving
People liked strong leader
Bolsheviks promised food, land, and peace
they gave btw but life suked for ppl after war anyway
Bolsheviks started civil war
DUMA took over as provisional govt!.
Communists took over provision govt!.
Lenin became leader
people used to leader so w/e
Tsar war poor leader plus had german wife plus took command of war so when losses came they blamed him!.
