Question: What major religon were the nazi's!?
Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
It is a slanderous discrimination to tie Atheism to Nazism, and is always done under the auspice of Christian apologists trying to exonerate the sins of their own beliefs at the expense of another!.

In Hitler's prime, he was a Christian!. He wrote extensively of the need for Christian values and Christian institutions in "Mein Kampf"!. In a phrase right out of the book: "Therefore, I am convinced that I am acting as the agent of our Creator!. By fighting off the Jews, I am doing the Lord's work!."

Hitler was born Catholic, raised Catholic, attended Catholic school, served as an altar boy!. In 1941 he told Gerhard Engel, one of his generals: "I am now as before a Catholic and will always remain so!."

His piety was never in doubt!. The Catholic Church never excommunicated him, nor placed Mein Kampf on the list of forbidden books!.

In 1933, his words in a speech at Berlin: "We were convinced that the people need and require this faith!. We have therefore undertaken the fight against the atheistic movement, and that not merely with a few theoretical declarations: we have stamped it out!."

And yet, despite his Catholicism, Hitler was famously known for his admiration of Martin Luther, the German founder of Protestantism, and infamous for his fiery hatred of Jews!. It is not a coincidence that the Nazi's carried out their first large scale progrom against the Jews on Martin Luther's birthday!.

Furthermore, it can't be discarded that the belt buckles of German soldiers bore the inscription: "Gott mit uns" (God is with us)!.

It was only much later in his life, when he began experiencing a mental breakdown induced by (probably) syphilis, that he started to criticize Christians; not because of their faith, but because of their perceived lack of civic virtue in defending Germany from the Communists and the allies!.

Christians in general, and Catholics in particular, need to stop shifting the blame of Hitler's unspeakable evils to an innocent minority and start manning up to their own devils!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

Hitler was an an atheist who ridiculed religion generally!. SS leader Heinrich Himmler was a pagan who convinced Hitler to make Norse paganism the "official religion" of the Reich!. It never took off however, so I suppose there would have been a lot of nominal Christians among the rank and file Nazis!.

Late in the war, there were special Islamic SS groups set up in Muslim areas!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The leadership was a mix of Pagan, Christian, and atheist!.

The soldier's would have been whatever religion they happened to be!.

Many people joined the party for purely political reasons, not for any
religious convictions!.

Written on the belt buckles of soldiers was the motto, "Gott Mitt Uns",
which means, "God is with us!."Www@QuestionHome@Com

They were "Christians/catholics!." supposedly!. Ironically enough hitler ated jews and he was part jewish from his fathers side's ancestry!.
