'THE HOUSE OF MORGAN: An American Banking Dynasty and the Rise of Modern Finance' (c!. 2001) by Ron Chernow After reading these two books and several other sources on the life of J!.P!. Morgan I was immediately struck that J!.P!. Morgan was groomed by his father for a life of finance!. His father from London controlled the life of the young J!.P!. Morgan almost up to the time of his father's death!. His father sent the very young 10-12 year old J!.P!. to work in a bank for nothing (intern!?) for several years!. Then the father sent the late teen Morgan to Germany to learn German, then to France to learn French, two of the most important languages in the 19th century business world!. While in Germany the University of Berlin offered J!.P!. Morgan a mathematics scholarship; it seems J!.P!. Morgan had a gift for math!. Then his father sent J!.P!.
