Question: What do you think of Che Guevara!?
Some people see him as a cut rate mass murdering thug who abolished countless innocent lives, and some people see him as a real go getter! (In a lack of a better vocab)!.

What do you think of him!? :]

(Were discussing him in Spanish and we have a man who stayed in the same concentration camp as Che Guevara back in the day, and he came and talked to us) Www@QuestionHome@Com

He dedicated his life to changing the capitalist system of government that creates huge wealth inequalities!. His god was the Marxist-Communist ideal and people died because of the him when Castro and he took power!. From this point of view,he's no worse than Bush or any leader who sought to use violent means to change the status quo!.

I think he is highly 'overrated' as a historical character, he was no saint and he failed to make the sort of impact he idealized in any of the places he went (Cuba, Bolivia, Africa)

But in my opinion, he was a man of the highest integrity, and lived according to what he believed in!. Above all, he was truly a revolutionary!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I saw something on History Channel about Che where even Castro wanted him gone!. I would call him a mass murderer and killer!. He faced execution bravely and without complaint in Bolivia!. I think the true value of Che, good and bad will come out in another 50 years!. Your speaker misnames "concentration camp!." More like "Interment Camp or conventional Military or other Prison!. Concentration Camp title goes to things of mass scale extermination of civilian populations!.

He fancied himself as a modern day Simon Bolivar!. Maybe he will turn out to be a failed one of the same ambition!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think the problem or confusion arises because Che is confused as a type of a pop icon!. Younger people buy t-shirts without knowing who he is or what he did or represents!.

Some people think he is a hero, and he may have been when he was fighting for freedom or fighting against a corrupt government, in Cuba, but then he started to export violence, whether you think that was part of a liberation movement or not!. The fact is when a foreign national tries to bring violent reform to a country he is, by definition, a terrorist!.

I think Che fell victim to his own fame!. What good he did, was muted by crossing borders to bring violence to other countries!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

He was an unwashed communist thug!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
