His body wasn't ever found so they don't know!. It's a very good guess because he was very depressed after watching his empire of "perfection" fall!. He was a very emotional man!.

His body WAS found by soldiers of the Soviet army!. The reason there were so many rumors that he may have survived and escaped was that the Soviets didn't share the fact that they had the body for decades!. Though still not 100% certain, it's pretty convincing; besides he'd be near 120 by now so WHATEVER happened, he's pushing up daisies today!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Hitler committed suicide in his underground bunker on April 30, 1945!. Others were in the bunker, so it is well verified!. His wife died that night also!.

When the bombing stopped, Hitler's body was found by the invading Soviet army!. It was still smoking!. The body was gathered up, and removed, some say to a secret place in Eastern Europe where it was buried!.

Hitler's skull was taken to Moscow, and kept in a small box on a shelf in the archive!. It was locked away until the mid 1990s!. when an American museum curator (Mark Tannebaum) was allowed to go thrrough and choose items for an exhibit called "World War II through Russian Eyes", which showed how the Russian people lived throught the horroros of World War II!. Tannebaum held HItler's skull in his hands- I was lucky enough to meet him and shake the same hand that held Hitler's skull- kinda gross!.!.!. He did not include the skull in the exhibit!. Too tawdry!.

The skull has been examined by ballistic experts, and there is some discussion that Hitler did not kill himself- the angle of the broken jawbone leads some to believe that the man who was too weak to accept justice was also too weak to handle his own death!.
