Just my opinion!.Www@QuestionHome@Com I find just the opposite in that the more the individual has a historical perspective and understanding the deeper the humor!. Such humor is usually far more dry and looking at the oddity of situations and people rather than the broad (and usually failing) attempts at slapstick!. Here there was no foundation of humor but rather what is a serious question!. The ‘thumbs down’ could come from the lack of attempt to seriously answer what should be (in the history category) an earnest question!. It should be obvious that a number of respondents replied with poor attempts to derive cheap humor rather than make a serious answer and that may be because they either didn’t have the knowledge that supported such an answer or that they didn’t even understand that there could be a serious answer!. Then there is the frustration of offering a well thought out response (such as by ‘its not me its u’ which deserved selection as best answer) and then see a flippant response be selected!. Yes, history is (and should be) a serious subject, but it is also true that those most deeply involved in the study of history more easily see the humor in the human acts of others!.Www@QuestionHome@Com I agree with you I love History as long as it is correct and historical fact and i only answer with the truth after Research and keep getting the thumbs down for telling the truth and i Laugh because it only shows their ignorance and they only give a thumbs down because they can and hide at the same time I have asked yahoo to show who gives thumbs up or down but no answer If some one asks an Intelligent question and i choose to answer it is with the truth and sometimes ti throw in some humour and one reason for answering this question is for the 2 points Www@QuestionHome@Com I love history and most people who know me would say I have a good sense of humor!. I just didn't find it all that humorous because it's such an old joke!. I saw it when you asked it and I didn't give you a thumb's down, but neither did I laugh or respond!.Www@QuestionHome@Com Most historians I know have good senses of humor, but perhaps are a bit more sophisticated in their tastes!.
