No, the United Nations did not exist until after WWII!. The organization the preceded the UN was the League of Nations!. President Woodrow Wilson had the ideal for the League in his 14 points after WWI!. Many nations joined the League!. However the US Congress did not approve our membership!. The League had no real power or military strength!. This was a good learning tool for the UN of today!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Yeah the "Mystery" guy is right!. The UN was created after World War 2!. But what really stopped WW2 was that Hitler concentrated too much of Germany's time bombing the hell out of an enemy city and this allowed allied forces to get the upper hand and drove back ground forces!. Then after Hitler was defeated, Truman gave the go ahead to bomb Hiroshima and Nagasaki, to end the war quickly and to prevent the casualties of a ground attack in Japan!. He also dropped it so that Japan knew not to retaliate!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
