Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
Anne Boleyn - she got the freakin' King of England to divorce his wildly popular wife at a time when divorce was unheard of, especially as far as royalty was concerned, and especially when the Pope and the King were joined at the hip, so to speak!. In order to gain the love of Anne, King Henry VIII divorced his first wife, broke off relations with the Pope and the world's Catholics, and formed the Church of England wherein he made himself the head of it!.

All this to have Anne Boleyn, who refused to sleep with him until he did all of the above!.

Years later, as you may know, after marrying Anne and losing interest in her feminine wiles, he accused her of incest and had her head cut off!.

But man, what an effect this one woman had on the world!

also, people will mention Rosa Parks as a major source of change by not giving up her seat on the bus to a white man!. What many people don't realize, however, it was a planned act and she wasn't just some woman who's feet was tired from working all day!. She volunteered to be the spearhead for the local NAACP to break up the civil rights discrimination against the black population in the Southern USA!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

There are so many!. It would be too hard to even count them all!. First of all, there are the reformers of the early twentieth century who sufferent much to get the rights they deserved!. There are queens in history like Elizabeth I who, though a woman, was England's most successful monarch to date!. Then there are the women of literture, who perhaps had the most influence of all!. Who has not heard of or read a book by Jane Austen!? Mary Wolstonecraft wrote one of the most famous defenses of women's rights in the history of the world!. And then there are the Bronte sisters, and their amazing works!. Like i said, influential women are everywhere; you just have to turn over a few stones!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Eleanor Roosevelt is one, because she expanded the role of the First Lady!. We generally don't really think about the First Lady as having a job, but in many ways, she was FDR's eyes and ears as she saw the harsh realities of American life during the Great Depression!.

Elizabeth I is another, she represents the "indepent woman" idea, that an unmarried queen can be just as good a leader (possibly even better) than a king!. She defied gender stereotypes and set the bar quite high!.

Princess Diana, also, because she used her influence as "ex-princess" to help people!. The idea of celebrity and philanthropy is kind of a heated debate, since it's not really clear whether a rich&famous person is helping the world for fame/publcity or out of the good of their heart!. But overall, I think she's influential because she went to the people who were suffering and she made them feel that their problem was her problem - she acknowleged it, and it made quite a difference!. [Angelina Jolie could fit under this category, but I think the controversial issue ^ applies to her quite a bit more than it does to Princess Diana)!.

There's a LOT of influential women in world history - those are just 3 of the many!. Hope that helpsWww@QuestionHome@Com
