Well, first of all, there were a ton of nautical technological advances made at this time, and traveling the seas was so much easier with these discoveries!. Secondly, the never-ending European quest for gold and riches sent them far and wide, particularly to the New World after everyone saw the riches Cortez and others returned with!. Thirdly, Spain, England, and France were all competing with each other for domination of Europe, and exploration and conquest gave nations an advantage!. Thirdly, overpopulation and religious turmoil made many people turn to other lands in order to get the religious freedom they so ardently desired!. England, especially, churned out groups like the Puritans who were seeking seperation from the Anglican church!. Www@QuestionHome@Com
