Welll for 1 they were both British citizens!. The Loyalists wanted to stay British citizens so they had no problem paying the British taxes and obeying the Declatory Act, which stated that colonist would have to house British soldiers!. While Loyalist on the other hand aggreed with the rulings of the First Continental Congress about boycotting British goods!. Loyalists wanted thier freedom and independence from Great Britain!.
