Having risked and in some cases given their lives for their country, Id say the greatest reward you could give is respect, its a small price to pay in return for the freedom we enjoy today!.

I recall around twenty years ago I stood in a queue at a post office, there was an elderly gent that moved so slow it got annoying, I'm getting pretty impatient at this making it fairly clear that I was in a rush and wanted him to hurry up!.!.!. eventually he finished his business and turned round apologising to me for taking so long, he had an eye patch over his right eye with some pretty severe scaring on his face and a string of medals proudly worn on his jacket, I can only guess what this chap had been through during the war!.
I have never felt more ashamed of myself not giving this gent the time he deserved!.
Lesson well learned!.
