Francisco de Miranda - he lead the forces in the Venezuelan War of Independence thus creating the sense of independent identity that formed the nation of Venezuela!. He ultimately failed to secure freedom from Spain but!.!.!.

Simón Bolívar - He secured Venezualas freedom once and for all and became the first President of Gran Columbia (of which Venezuela was a part)!.

José Antonio Páez also help secure freedom for Venezuela in battle against the Spanish and became the first President of Venezuela after leading a rebellion against the forces of Gran Columbia!.

Juan Vicente Gómez - three times President, he modernised the country and lead it through a period of prosperity!. However he was an autocratic dictator towards the end of his life and his reign is not without controversy!. Speaking of which!.!.!.
