Russia did win the war!. While the British where waiting for the USA on their island the Russians where fighting a feirce war against a huge German army!. THe allies never fought such a big or elite army, and the Russians where also the ones who reached Berlin/ conquered Prussia (historyfags will know what that means)!.

However Russia had a huge population and could mobilize more men than Germany could, so one could argue that this was the main reason to their victory as opposed to them having more skill then the allies!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

The Russian role was big!. Certainly the Battle of Stalingrad gave the Allies a lot of heart, and the Russians were the first to get into Germany and the capital Berlin!.
However, I doubt how much Russia owes to skill, and how much it owes to luck and the Allies!.
One lucky thing was Hitler's stupidity!. The Germans would have easily taken Moscow and the Russians would have surrendered!. also, Japan's reluctance to attack Russia, exposing it to a 2-way front war, meant the Japanese did not help the German attack on Russia!. Japanese help would have destroyed Russia!.
The Allies kept fighting Germany meaning Germany couldn't commit all its forces to Russia, saving Russia from the worst!. After D-Day, the Germans had to basically fight two fronts at the same time!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

It was!. i would not say it was the biggest role!. i would argue it was an important role, but Hitler's overall defeat was from a united Allied force in gneeral!.

The russians however were able to beta the German army, given the german diversion to help in italy by England!.

However, I would agree, in the final downfall of germany, yes russia played a very improtant role in WW2!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Russia lost MORE MEN in just ONE BATTLE early in WW2 than AMERIKA LOST DURING THE ENTIRE WAR!.!.!. in both theatres!.!.!. so I would say Russia had the BIGGEST ROLE in WW2 because Russia LOST MORE PEOPLE THAN ANY OTHER COUNTRY!.!.!. and THAT is a HISTORICAL FACT!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
