Mayans and Egyptians ?

Question: Mayans and Egyptians !?

What did these two civilizations have in common!?
They both had a system of writing
they both believed in life after death
and what else!?
What didn't they have in common!?

Well, they were both polytheistic, that is they believed in many different gods and goddesses, but that was common to all ancient civilisations!. And Egyptian mythology is very different from Mayan mythology!.

One of the things they did not have in common was artistic styles, if you look at Egyptian art and Mayan art, you will see that they are very different!. Egyptian paintings and statues bear no resemblance to Mayan ones at all!.

And although, as the comment above rightly points out, they also had pyramids, Mayan pyramids look quite different from Egyptian ones!.

also I believe the Mayans practiced human sacrifice, which was definitely not an Egyptian custom!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

They built some pretty large structures!.!.!.

I'd be wary of comparing Pyramids though, if you give a small child wooden blocks they tend to stack them in a 'pyramid' shape, its the safest way to stack without them falling over at the slightest disturbance!.
