Question: Which historical event was probably the most important!.!.!.Magna Carta, French Revolution, Women's Suffrage!?
Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
The Magna Carta for sure!

Since it is the first document ever to limit the power of a king, it has affected every government since! Some indirectly, some out of fear, but many- including our own- directly in many ways!.

The French Revolution would not have happened the way it did (citizens rallying and killing to get more voice in the government) without the Magna Carta!.

Suffrage of any sort- even for women, would not have happened either!.

French Revolution by a landslide!. It ushered in a drastic change in military thinking (the nation in arms,) the rise of Napoleon and the French empire, and would lay the groundwork for the rise of democracy in Europe (including in France, where it was not achieved until the mid 1800s!.)

The Magna Carta was not the first document to limit the power of a king-whichever teacher told you that lied to you!. Rather, the preferred method of limiting the power of a king was to kill him!. (Witness Edward II, Richard III, et!.al!.) The Magna Carta was also not the foundation of modern constitutions in any real sense!. England has no constitution and has never had one!. They have a long history of rights, privileges, parliamentary and royal powers, and precedents that form a government!. The idea that the Magna Carta was somehow the foundation of western democracy (or even western government) is ludicrous!. It was simply another step in the ever-present fight between the English kings and their nobles!.

The fact that women's suffrage is on this list is ridiculous!. If women's suffrage is so important, why isn't black suffrage on here!? Or unlimited male suffrage!? Or suffrage at all!? Www@QuestionHome@Com

Magna Carta!.!.!.because the whole idea of constitutions was derived from it-although this was a failure!. The US was inspired by it and the French Revolution, and Women's Suffrage came after these critical events and even a result of it!. And I'm not undermining the importance of women's suffrage!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Depends on your point of view!. Sarah Palin and Hilliary Clinton would probably say suffrage -- and for that very reason, many would disagree!Www@QuestionHome@Com
