Why not study History!? It is a very important subject and helps when talking about various things from biblical matters to daily questions that come up!. From old, forgotten or misused prophecies to laws passed that change things in major ways, history is important, why would what has happened in the past not be written down if it was not important!? How would we know of the messiah if it had not been for the bible, even if you are a atheist you can see how this would affect the world we live in today!. For another example; the Federal reserve is illegal according to the constitution because the government is supposed to handle the money, not a corporation!. Studying history reveals things you did not know, and would have never been aware of, it's amazing the things you find in history!. I hope this was not to vague!. :) Www@QuestionHome@Com

I study it because it's interesting!. I enjoy fiction, but the fact that history is (more or less) true makes it more interesting and compelling!.

"History is filled with the sound of silken slippers going downstairs and wooden shoes coming up!." - Voltaire

The wooden shoes are easy to find; what makes history interesting is the silken slippers!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

To understand why we are the way we are today!.

In some cultures, what happened 500, 1000, 2000 years ago is still influencing attitudes and decisions today!. In America, we tend to have very short memories!. We move around, we don't live in the same towns our ancesters lived in, we identify ourselves more by our own deeds than by our heritages (except on St!. Patrick's Day)!. Most of the rest of the world identifies more with their lineage and their tribe!. Nations come and go!. Without understanding the history of the areas that make up the former Soviet Union, the Middle East, the Far East, Africa -- can we really understand what is happening today!? Www@QuestionHome@Com
