I live next to a battlefield in Ga and they don't allow you to use metal detectors!. Ive heard of other places that prohibit it also!.!. You may want to check before you use one!. They can kick you off the grounds or fine you for it!.
Most of the time it just good luck if you find one!. Try looking off the paths that most people take and go into the woods or out in the middle of a field!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The days of finding stuff on battlefields are over!. None of them allow metal detectors or digging of any kind!. At gettyburg they even have sensors for night vision if anyone sneaks in at night time!.
now, all I can tell you is this!.!.!.sometimes parts of former battlefields are privately owned!. In some cases the owner will give you permission to dig (as long as it isn't a canyon)!. This is happeneing less and less though!. Still bullets are quite common and you can find them for a few dollars each at various museums and on Ebay!. It isn't like digging your own though but still nice to have!.

Can you imagine what would happen if places allowed digging!?!?!? Think about it!.

Good luck!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Warning!!!! On most historical sites and national battlefields, a metal detector will get you arrested and fined heavily!. If you are on federal land, don't even think about it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
