the sadness will go away, yes!.

its good that you're reading about history and being thoughtful about it!. What you want to take away from this experience, I think, is what people go through!. The people who did live to get out of the concentration camps, they became strong, caring, thoughtful people!. there are many books written by the survivors and the writings are uplifting, caring and focused on the future, being happy and loving!. This pain that was inflicted on others, what we can do is work to prevent it from happening again!.

Why not write an essay about what you learned, that will help with your thoughts!. The Diary of Anne Frank is very good and perfect for a teenager, check it out if you haven't already read it!.

be well and take care!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

I feel the exact same way!. When I read about the Holocaust and many other atrocities, I feel really haunted and sad!. I met a Holocaust survivor, and after I heard her experience at Auschwitz, I was silent for many hours, thinking to myself repeatedly, "Why did this happen!? Why did people not do anything about this!?" I am not trying to scare you, but this terrible atrocity could happen again if people continue to be intolerant and hateful!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

I remember learning about the Holocaust in the 7th grade and feeling so haunted by it!. And it seemed like no one else - the teacher or the other students - took it as seriously as I did so it felt kind of lonely in a way too!. But I think there is something wrong with people who *don't* feel tremendously sad!. !. it was a horrific thing!.
You'll be ok though - don't worry!. There are people who actually lived through being in concentration camps, like Elie Weisel, and they still can see the beauty in life!. If they can, we can!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

For your sake, I hope these thoughts don't just go away!. Instead, I hope you learn more about the human condition, both the positive and the negative, get more perspective, and gain a balance!.

You have learned about some of the inhumanity, suffering, and etc!. Try to learn about perseverance, survival, sacrifice, and other positive things that happened!.

Good luck!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
